Development Director

Help Preserving the Academy support institutions of higher education by identifying funding opportunities and securing grants and gifts. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a proven track record in fundraising. Primary areas of responsibility include solicitation and stewardship of mid-level, major and planned gift donors.

The development officer will:
  • Partner with the Founder and executive team to prepare the annual individual fundraising plan, including revenue goals and specific measurable objectives, tactics and timetables.
  • Execute fundraising plan and drive increased income from individual donors.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of donors and donor prospects.
  • Write donor correspondence, contact reports, proposals, and stewardship communication.
  • Steward donor relationships and provide ongoing communication with donors regarding the impact of their support.
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years professional experience in any of the following areas: major gift fundraising, non-profit work, sales, communications, or other related field.
Preferred:
  • Understanding of and commitment to, donor-centered philanthropy principles to develop and sustain relationships with individual donors
  • Demonstrated ability to solicit and close major gifts
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to connect with donors, stakeholders and staff
  • Committed work ethic and ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Ability to multi-task, manage, and organize multiple initiatives

Grant Writer

Help The Academic (R)Evolution support institutions of higher education by identifying funding opportunities and securing grants and gifts. The Grant Writer reports directly to the Development Director. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating the grant application process related to grants that focus on leadership development and higher education. This person will manage proposals, and apply their experience and understanding of the subject to technical grant writing work.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in research and grant writing; nonprofit experience a plus Bachelor’s Degree required
Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals
Knowledge of local and national foundations and corporations
Detail-oriented, organized, deadline-driven
Clear, precise and compelling writing skills
Able to effectively communicate
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Learning Designer

Our Learning Designer participates in learning design projects including the development of instructional materials and media-rich online courses. They collaborate with our faculty and internal staff to design and develop interactive and media-rich online courses and digital content, assessing learner and faculty needs to determine appropriate and creative delivery methods. They demonstrate expertise in Learning Design theories, principles and implementation performing thorough content analysis to ensure grammar, organization, and purpose are clear for intended audience. They directly support the efforts of the course instructors in designing and developing high-quality online courses. The Learning Designer produces digital assets and multimedia solutions while adhering to quality standards, student learning outcomes, production timelines and brand guidelines. They research and utilize the most up-to-date practices and technologies related to learning design and online learning applications and evaluates online courses and make recommendations for improvements based on Quality Matters rubrics.
MINIMUM:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in education, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute for the required experience.

PREFERRED:

Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Learning Design, Adult Education or similar.
At least 2 years of instructional design experience required, preferably in a course development role.
Experience as a learning designer or instructional designer.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:

Experience as a learning designer or instructional designer. Proficiency in creating multimedia assets for digital learning.
